The BWW Commuter is one of our best selling Pure road wheel sets.  The spirit of cycling manifests in many forms, from the exhilaration of speed when tucked in tight on long descents, the thrill of pacing traffic between stop lights, to the simple quiet sense of pleasure and enjoyment of watching the sun rise above the horizon on your early morning ride in to work.  The BWW Commuter wheel set has been designed to offer a stable, reliable platform to offer those whom commute and partake in the spirit of cycling on a daily basis.

The BWW Commuter rim is 24mm tall, not because it’s trying to fulfill its aero tapered shape, but because the rim profile needs a calculated height above the CNC precision machined sidewalls to form a triangulated, super strong bar structure.  The welded rim seam, and the rim’s sidewalls are precision machined to offer maximum stopping power when needed most.  Last but not least, these wheels are assembled using premium spoke prep on every spoke and nipple, and there is a nice little 3D shaped stainless steel washer inbetween the rim and every nipple, to help support the nipple against the rim while promoting longer rim life expectancy.

We are building these BWW Commuters up with super smooth, BWW RT100 (front) and RT300 (rear) 8/9/10/11 spd hubs.  These hubs are finished to today’s exacting standards, incorporate aluminum hub shells, but use steel axles and a steel freehub for durability.  The thing that sets them apart from the pack are their bearings.  These are premium sealed cartridge bearings, meant to roll smooth and hold up for a really long time.  A spacer is included with every shipment, so running 8/9/10 spd is no problem.  No spacer means you’ll be running these things at 11.  The wheels are laced three cross front and rear, using Sapim Race double butted stainless steel black 2.0mm/1.8mm 14g/15g spokes and brass nipples.  This lace pattern offers excellent lateral strength while still allowing each wheel to absorb a fair amount of road vibration.  The double butted spokes further serve to that end, helping dampen road vibration while contributing to each wheel’s durability over time.
