Industry Information:

The Zipp Service Course seatpost is a well-regarded component in the cycling industry, known for its balance of performance, durability, and value. Here is a breakdown of the industry information and compatibility for the specific model you mentioned.

Industry Information

  • Zipp’s Market Position: Zipp, a subsidiary of SRAM, is a prominent brand in the high-performance cycling market. While they are best known for their aerodynamic carbon wheels, their cockpit components (handlebars, stems, and seatposts) are also highly respected. The “Service Course” line is Zipp’s aluminum-based offering, positioned as a durable and affordable option for training, racing, and general riding. It sits below the lighter, carbon “Service Course SL” and “SL Speed” lines.
  • Target Audience: The Zipp Service Course seatpost appeals to a wide range of cyclists who want reliable performance without the premium cost of carbon. This includes:
    • Competitive and Enthusiast Cyclists: As a training component or for a race-day setup where durability is a priority.
    • Custom Builders: Its clean, minimalist aesthetic and reliable performance make it a popular choice for custom bike builds.
    • OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer): It is sometimes spec’d on mid- to high-end complete bikes as a high-quality aluminum component.
  • Key Features:
    • Material: The seatpost is typically 3D-forged from AL-7050 or AL-6061 aluminum, which provides an excellent strength-to-weight ratio.
    • Clamp Design: It features a dual-bolt, low-profile clamp (sometimes referred to as a “micro-adjust cradle”) that allows for precise saddle angle and fore-aft adjustments. This design is highly secure and prevents the saddle from slipping, even on rough terrain.
    • Finish: The “Bead Blast Black” finish is a matte, textured surface that provides a subtle, modern aesthetic.

A little about the seller:

I’ve been in the cycling industry for more than 30 years (I know, that makes me old!). I’ve been a professional bicycle mechanic for most of those years, including working locally at Lee’s Cyclery before they became Trek Stores. Now I work from home as a Customer Success Manager for a software team. But I still love fixing up and working on bikes and riding them too!

Purchase from me with peace of mind. Not only can you trust my years of experience, but I will also fit you for the bike and provide any mechanical insight at the time of purchase.

Shipping information:

I ship USPS Ground.  I try to keep it simple. It will be packed very well, but if you see any damage to the box or Part, keep the box and packing material plus, take pictures. I do insure all parts that are shipped. In addition, if shipped out of Colorado, there is no Sales Tax. You can also combine shipping with multiple items.
