Taking SCARY out of used bikes, one bike at a time.
Someone replaced the derailleur hanger on this bike with the wrong one. They forced new one on there which puts the wheel at an angle and not flush with the dropouts. In short the wheel can shift and cause you to crash. Plus the brakes don’t line up as well as the wheel was very hard to get out.
In this case the black hanger one is the correct part. When installed it fits flush and the wheel fits correctly.
So if you need to replace your derailleur hanger, first make sure it matches exactly and double check your shifting and brakes after installing.
When in doubt, go to your local bike shop and have it safety checked.
